Anne has ridden at an international level where she has enjoyed many successes with horses that she has produced herself from novices. She now concentrates on breaking young horses and producing them through the grades for competition or sale.

Anne Bedford offers a unique opportunity for any serious sport horse breeder to choose from several superbly bred stallions that have all been selected for their excellent confirmation, superb temperaments and above all, their jumping ability!

Cassius V

Cassius is a tall good looking stallion who is very light on his feet and is showing outstanding show jumping ability. He has an excellent temperament in both his stable and in his work and is a definite Grand Prix prospect.

Cassius descends from an excellent Holstein mother line (stamm 2067), the well-respected mare line created by one of Holstein`s best breeders, Reimer Witt. This stamm has produced numerous international jumpers as well as the approved stallions Con Spirito R (Sires of the World Champion), Con Caletto, Landstreicher, Sympatico, Lord Logger, Carthano, Bratt Z, Catiago, Lactic, Lordon I & II and the Nijhof/Eurocommerce stallion Canturano among others.

Cassius V`s Pedigree Cassius`s half brother by Clearway has recently been awarded the highest jumping index points at a stallion contest in Germany and his owners have turned down a substantial sum offered to them by Paul Schockemohle. Cassius is most certainly one for the future.

SIRE:- Claudio 173cm 1991 Holstein

Claudio is by Carthargo Z who competed at the Olympic Games in 1996 and 2000 with Jos Lansik and was also a winner of numerous grand prix and nations cup. He is one of the most successful ever Capitol 1 sons and now has several approved sons himself from a very short breeding period due to being withdrawn in 2000 due to infertility. For this reason and the successes of his progeny make Carthargo blood highly sought after.

Carthago Z is the son of Capitol I, one of the great modern Holsteiner showjumping sires. Unusually for a Holstein jumping sire, Capitol carried no Cor de la Bryère blood, but he was richly endowed with the heritage of two great Thoroughbred descendants of the Bay Ronald line - Cottage Son xx and Manometer xx, he also carried a double cross of the influential anglo-arab, Ramzes. Capitol I sired Cassini, Campione (and full brother, Cathleen, ridden by Meredith Michaels - now Beerbaum), Calato Z, Curtis (Mändli), Cliquot (Kirchof). With an index of 182 he head the FN young jumping stallion ratings. Capitol’s grand dam Retina was a Hamburg Jumping Derby with Fritz Thiedemann. His dam, Folia, showed great jumping potential herself, and produced the licensed stallions Latus I and II, as well as the two Capitols, and famous daughters Kausa, Lektion (eventing) and U-Capitola (dam of Lord Capitol).

Folia’s dam, Vase, was a full sister to Romanus who competed with success with Hans Günter Winkler, despite the horse’s aversion to water jumps.

The dam sire, Calando I stood at several breeding stations in Holstein before pursuing a performance career that culminated in a German Championship with Karsten Huck. After jumping successfully in Luxembourg, Calando I returned to breeding duties in Holstein.

Carthago’s progeny includes international showjumpers, such as Cim Christo at the 2004 Olympics under the Korean Bong Gak Sohn, as well as Kira III (Ludo Philippaerts), VDL Groep Spiga (Leopold van Asten), Caitano (Ulrich Kirchhoff), Campus (Steve Guerdat), Cristallo (Alois PollmannSchweckhorst), Caya (Sheila Burke), K-Carrera (Michael Aabo), Charlottenhof’s Classix Girl (Sören von Rönne), and Hofgut Liederbach’s Cathleen (Pia-Luise Aufrecht).

Claudio has himself many victories at Grand Prix level under Bo Kristofferson and his offspring are already starting to show potential at the higher levels, including Claudio’s daughter Cezanne who has been a winner at grand prix level with Dario Agosta, as has his stallion son Contino under the saddle of Gustavo Arroyo. Claudio also has the well known approved son, Claudios Son. DAM:- Outshine170cm 2002 Holstein Outshine is a lovely looking mare with enormous power and scope. Her stallion son by Clearway has recently been awarded the highest jumping index points at a stallion contest in Germany and his owners have turned down a substantial sum offered to them by Paul Schockemohle.

Outshine is by Baldini I who absolved his stallion performance test in Medingen in 1997, where he demonstrated an above average talent for jumping. He impressively put his jumping ability to show in competition sport during the following years, winning show jumper classes and show jumping competitions up to intermediate class. He successfully participated in the Federal Championship in 2000 and Baldini has proved himself in sport as well as through his sons such as Boritas. The grey stallion Bachus, a part-bred Arab with an original Holstein dam, introduced Arab blood into Holstein breeding again after a long period of abstinence. His sire Bajar also enjoyed a great reputation as an outstanding sire as regards preparedness to perform and capacity for jumping in the Arab breed, the Trakehner population and in Schleswig-Holstein pony breeding. Bachus began his career as a Holstein Association stallion and was a highly placed Federal Championship participant with Bo Kristoffersen. Later on, Bachus came out with great international successes under the patronage of the Zangersheide stud farm with Jos Lansink. The dam, state premium mare Vision III also produced the one year younger bay full-brother Baldini II and prior to that, the stallion Cavano (by Capitol I) who is so popular in Denmark, as well as the esteemed Landgraf I son Lesotho (Holstein Association, Neustadt/Dosse state stallion), who is an accomplished advanced class showjumper. Baldini has produced an impressive number of jumpers currently in international competition: Backgammon with M. Haunhorst, Baldessarini with Petra Janic, Balthus with Alvaro Zambrano, Calzado, Boritas with Lars Bak Andersen & Comtesse III with Giulia Martinengo Parquet.

The Grand dam Dalome has produced the approved stallions Calwahn and Rando.. The Great grand dam Salome also produced the approved son Sympathico and the well known approved stallion Eurocommerce Canturano.
